News coming out of Tottenham increases Arsenal's chances of signing one of their top targets - opinion
Tottenham confirming the signing of Yves Bissouma boosts Arsenal’s hopes of landing Youri Tielemans from Leicester.
Before landing Bissouma, Tottenham were linked with a bid for the Belgian international and could of course offer Champions League football.
Perhaps some Arsenal fans were getting twitchy about the lack of movement on the deal to sign the midfielder, especially while Spurs pushed ahead with their business.
But it seems hugely unlikely that Spurs would sign Bissouma and Tielemans in the same window, when there are other areas of the squad which need sorting out.

Bissouma boosts Arsenal’s Tielemans hopes
It has been reported that Arsenal’s impending capture of Fabio Vieira has not dampened their interest in Tielemans.
The Leicester man is one of their top priority targets, alongside Gabriel Jesus, with both men having dwindling contract situations.
Spurs have taken advantage of the fact Bissouma’s contract only had one year left to run, and Arsenal are looking to do the same with Tielemans.
It seems both sides will get the new central midfielders that they want to try and go again and close the gap on the country’s top two teams.
Things are starting to move forward on many transfers after the international break, when Tielemans was off impressing with Belgium.
And now Arsenal have a clearer run at Tielemans, and although their fans would likely argue he would have chosen them anyway, Spurs being out of the race makes the progress that bit more serene.
