Newcastle United are still yet to really get themselves up and running in the summer transfer market.

The business done on Tyneside has been minimal so far this summer with only a handful of minor additions being made the Eddie Howe‘s squad.

Clearly, the Newcastle boss has had his patience tested as he awaits the first big signing at St James’ Park in the window.

But time is running out for Newcastle with just over two weeks remaining until the market shuts for the year.

Despite the need for new faces to come through the doors on Tyneside, it is player departures which are still on the mind of those at Newcastle.

On Tuesday morning, a fresh bid had been turned away by the Magpies for a player who could certainly be headed for the exit over the coming weeks.

Newcastle reject offer for ‘amazing’ player on Tuesday morning

Newcastle have done well in some respect this summer by avoiding the sale of their top players.

June offered some real scares when it came to the PSR deadline with Newcastle needing to offload players to balance the books.

Elliot Anderson and Yankuba minteh were sacrificed by the Toon as they looked to keep hold of players like Anthony Gordon and Bruno Guimaraes.

However, the departures have seemingly not stopped there with bids coming in for some of their players still.

According to Lee Ryder, Newcastle have just rejected a big to have arrived for winger Miguel Almiron.

Charlotte FC is the team to have lodged the offer with former Aston Villa manager Dean Smith keen to bring Almiron back to the MLS.

The Paraguayan is a player who could certainly be departing Tyneside this summer following interest to land in January.

A potential move to Saudi Arabia was mooted earlier in the window but the player made it clear earlier in the year it was not a move that appealed to him.

Newcastle could be set to say goodbye to ‘amazing’ forward

Despite enduring some difficulties recently under Howe, Almiron has been hailed as ‘amazing‘ in the past during his time on Tyneside.

The report claims Almiron has been told he is now expected to stay this summer and is very much in the plans of Howe.

But it does have to be questioned whether that would quickly change if the right offer was to land for Almiron.

Newcastle have been looking for a new right winger all summer and their failure to land one could well be why they are so hesitant on green lighting Almiron’s exit.

But a deal with Charlotte FC is going to have to move fast with the MLS window now just hours away from closing.
