Manchester United have now finally announced the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
Despite strong interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, who will both be playing in the Champions League next season, Bryan Mbeumo wanted to play at Old Trafford.
And alongside the addition of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Man United have secured two of the finest attackers in the Premier League.
Both are relatively young, hungry for success, and in reality, they are a calibre of player that the 15th best team in the English top flight shouldn’t be able to sign.
But despite their league struggles, United remain one of the biggest clubs in the world, and manager Ruben Amorim has his own pull as well.
Neil Warnock gives his honest thoughts on Man United signing Bryan Mbeumo
That being said, former Premier League manager Neil Warnock has now shared his thoughts on United signing Mbeumo over on talkSPORT.
Amorim still wants to make three more signings at United this summer, but when it comes to Mbeumo, Warnock did have one doubt.
Speaking alongside Jamie O’Hara, who thought the former Brentford man would be brilliant for United, Warnock seemed concerned about Mbeumo playing under a different level of pressure at Old Trafford.
Beginning the chat, O’Hara said: “I think he’s brilliant, a fantastic player. He’s definitely going to improve the team — he’s doing a half-decent job with the signings he got, with Cunha.”
Warnock then replied: “I think he’s a good player, I just think he’s been playing for Brentford, and no disrespect to Brentford but that’s not a Man United.

“I don’t think he’s come up against the pressures that he’s going to get at Old Trafford.
“I was a bit disappointed in Amorim at times and you know when he come in, and I think when you come into a club you should look at the players you’ve got and decide what tactics you are going to play.
“But he came in, ‘I’m going to play three at the back’, and he hasn’t got three centre-halves, so I don’t see how you can do that, and I still don’t see the back line being good enough.
“So yes, he’s got a couple of good players in there, and they are good.”
Mbeumo doesn’t seem intimidated by Old Trafford
Speaking in his first interview as United’s new number 19, Mbeumo didn’t seem at all overawed by the challenge ahead.
Despite Warnock’s apprehension, the 25-year-old seemed buoyed by the pressure of playing for the club he supported growing up, the club of his ‘dreams’.
Mbeumo said: “Everybody told me about the environment that is being created here and how exciting the plans are for the future.
“This is a massive club, with an incredible stadium and amazing fans, we are all really determined to challenge for the biggest trophies.”
Of course, United still will need to make further quality additions before they are able to challenge for the biggest of trophies, like Mbeumo wants to do.
Warnock is probably right to say that Amorim still needs reinforcements at the back, even if the return of Lisandro Martinez to full fitness will be very welcome.
