Moussa Sissoko was asked if he’s an Arsenal fan on Instagram last night, and Tottenham Hotspur supporters will surely love his response.

The Frenchman spent five years in North London as a Spurs player and was a really popular figure. He played over 200 games at Tottenham, scored five goals and provided 16 assists before leaving the club in 2021.

Now 32, Sissoko is back home in France, playing for Ligue 1 side Nantes.

He still remembers his time at Tottenham very fondly, and his Spurs allegiance means he has to have a bit of a dislike towards Arsenal. His Instagram story from last night shows just that.

Moussa Sissoko’s two-word response when asked if he’s an Arsenal fan on Instagram

Sissoko had some free time last night and decided to have a Q&A session with his fans on Instagram

One of the questions read: “Is it true you’re an Arsenal fan?”

Sissoko responded with a video where he’s seen moving his index finger sideways, gesturing that it’s a big ‘NO’. The overlay text in the video contained the words “My man” followed by emojis of the colours white and blue.

Did the Frenchman ever support Arsenal?

After five years at Tottenham, we’re not surprised that Sissoko has no love for Arsenal, but as a kid growing up in France, the midfielder was a Gooner.

Back in 2016, in an interview with Foot Mercato, Sissoko publicly admitted that Arsenal were his favourite team growing up because of all the French players Arsene Wenger had at his disposal.

Sissoko said six years ago: “Arsenal is one of the best clubs in Europe. Being followed by this kind of club proves that we have quality. It’s good to know. I hope that I will have the chance, soon, to play in this club or in a similar club. It’s a very big European club.

“Everyone knows it, I often said it when I was young, Arsenal was my favorite club, because there were a lot of French players who went through it like Thierry Henry, Robert Pirès, Sylvain Wiltord, Patrick Vieira who was my idol. The great Arsenal team.”
