Report: Leeds-linked Spanish sensation could yet be on the move as Firpo move nears
Real Madrid sensation, Miguel Gutierrez, could yet leave the La Liga giants this summer amid reports linking him with Leeds United.
The teenage Spaniard is one of the hottes properties in Spain at the moment. Reports in recent months have suggested that Leeds could move for Gutierrez.
However, just a few weeks back, it was also suggested that Carlo Ancelotti had decided to keep hold of Gutierrez. The youngster had forced his way into the plans of Zidane last season, with Ancelotti an impressed onlooker.
But now, Defensa Central are reporting that the left-back could yet be on the move. They claim that Gutierrez could now wait until the last moments of the window before deciding his next move.
Leeds, meanwhile, are said to be close to landing Junior Firpo from Barcelona.
The signing of Firpo would seemingly mean that Leeds are now settled in the left-back area. However, you just never know.
Gutierrez is a talented player and Marcelo Bielsa could well look to bring even more competition to Elland Road. That will be key in ensuring the club continue to progress.
However, the reality is that Leeds have probably missed the boat here with the Real Madrid starlet. Not that it matters too much now with Firpo in the bag.
It’s likely there’ll be Premier League interest in Gutierrez before the end of this current window. Whether Leeds reignite their own and rejoin the race, remains to be seen.
