Tottenham Hotspur star Micky van de Ven dropped a surprise name when he was asked about the funniest player at the club.

Spurs have a fantastic group of players now. The atmosphere on and off the pitch is incredible, and everyone seems to be having a good time. However, the funniest player at Tottenham, according to Van de Ven, is someone you’d never guess.

Micky van de Ven says Fraser Forster is the funniest player at Tottenham

When you think about the funniest players at Tottenham, there’s no way Fraser Forster will come to your mind.

The likes of Emerson Royal, Pedro Porro, Richarlison, James Maddison and even Heung-min Son would’ve been our guesses, but Micky van de Ven has suggested that we’re wrong.

The Dutch international, who is a fan favourite at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, sat down for a segment with the Premier League’s official YouTube channel this week.

After he named Richarlison as the player who does the most outrageous skills in training, Van de Ven was asked to name the funniest player in the squad right now.

To everyone’s surprise, he named Forster.

“I will say Fraser,” he said.

When asked why, Van de Ven added: “I don’t know, sometimes he comes with some jokes and it’s just, I don’t know, you keep laughing for five minutes.”

Forster is adored by everyone at Tottenham

Micky van de Ven’s claim about Fraser Forster definitely surprised us, but one thing that’s not shocking at all is that the latter is loved by everyone at the club.

The £75,000-a-week (Spotrac) goalkeeper has only played once since Ange Postecoglou’s arrival in the summer, but he still gives it his all behind the scenes.

The Tottenham boss revealed not too long ago that Forster always trains at an ‘elite level’, while Brennan Johnson branded him as an ‘unbelievable guy’ and an unsung hero at Spurs.

Every club needs someone like Forster, and Tottenham sure are glad they’ve got him.
