Micah Richards has reminded supporters what he admires about Mohamed Salah after the Liverpool star’s recent dip in form.
The 33-year-old has been the star talisman since signing from AS Roma in 2017 but he is now facing the most challenging period of his Anfield career.
Salah has been berated for his decision-making on the pitch throughout the opening weeks of the season as he has struggled to showcase his best form in the Reds’ new-look side.
However, there is one aspect of his game that supporters have seemingly forgotten throughout his poor spell of form.

Mohamed Salah has shown incredible consistency at Liverpool
When discussing the Liverpool forward on The Rest Is Football podcast, Richards reminded supporters that Salah has been one of the most consistent performers since arriving on Merseyside.
“I think it’s the consistency that I admire the most, because how many players have you seen have amazing seasons for two or three years and then they drop off. But that ceiling is really high that it drops off massively. But with Salah, to be consistent ever since the days at maybe Chelsea when things didn’t go, and before that, when he was at Basel, he was incredible then.
And a lot of people don’t seem to remember that. He used to score some really amazing goals back then. But then ever since he’s gone to Liverpool, the consistency he’s shown has been remarkable, season after season.”
His worst performance of the campaign thus far occurred during the 2-1 loss against Chelsea, where he spurned multiple chances to equalise at Stamford Bridge.
Salah has rediscovered his best form for Egypt during the international break, playing in a more central role, but with Florian Wirtz also needing to find his feet in the number 10 role, the forward must find a way to make an impact out wide.
Indeed, the Reds face a monumental clash against Manchester United after a run of three straight defeats across all competitions, but Salah has an impeccable record in this fixture, and Sunday’s match could be the perfect opportunity for the Egyptian to return to his best.
Mohamed Salah has recorded eye-watering numbers for Liverpool
Salah’s maiden campaign at Anfield is remembered as one of the greatest debut seasons in Premier League history.
While he has never since been able to match those heights, he came incredibly close last season, falling only three goal contributions short of his total tally for the 2017/18 season.
| Mohamed Salah Liverpool record | |||
| Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| 2024/25 | 52 | 34 | 23 |
| 2023/24 | 44 | 25 | 14 |
| 2022/23 | 51 | 30 | 16 |
| 2021/22 | 51 | 31 | 15 |
| 2020/21 | 51 | 31 | 6 |
| 2019/20 | 48 | 23 | 13 |
| 2018/19 | 52 | 27 | 10 |
| 2017/18 | 52 | 44 | 16 |
Salah has drawn comparisons to Lionel Messi for his influence on the pitch, and it is remarkable that he has consistently scored 20+ goals in all competitions throughout his second stint in English football.
