Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher over the past few months.
For instance, journalist Dean Jones told GiveMeSport a month ago that the 24-year-old is the ‘dream’ signing for Spurs at number eight.
More recently, The Athletic‘s David Ornstein speculated that Tottenham may well try again for Gallagher, a player they have tried to sign before.
With the summer transfer window on the horizon, speculation linking Tottenham and the 11-cap England international is likely to increase.
For the time being at least, Gallagher will do all he can to help Chelsea finish another poor season on a high note.
Tottenham target Conor Gallagher boasts great commitment
On Sunday, the Blues host Leicester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals, a repeat of the 2021 final which the Foxes won.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side fell just short in the Carabao Cup this season and will hope to go one better in this competition.
The former Tottenham boss, speaking to football.london at his pre-match presser gave his thoughts when asked how he can help Gallagher force his way into the England team.
“I think he’s convincing the England manager because of his commitment,” said Pochettino. “He’s always 200 percent in every single appearance and training.

“He needs to keep performing and keep this commitment always as it’s one of his best skills.
“He has the capacity to always be ready to fight, to commit, to help and then showing his quality. Yes, he needs to keep believing and trying to improve in this way.
“The other challenge for him is to score more goals. I think from the beginning of the season was really tough for him but now he’s scoring and feeling more confident.
“And I think now to grow in this reaction is the most important thing for him.”
Conor Gallagher a great shout for Tottenham – opinion
Gallagher is a “fantastic” player and, at 24 years of age, he is yet to hit his prime.
It doesn’t look as though many people connected with Chelsea want him gone, but the club’s hierarchy seems willing to sell anyway.
Gallagher is the kind of player you would build a team around, so let’s see whether Tottenham make a move for him.
The reported £45million-valued ace would be a great addition to the Spurs ranks. It would be a real coup if the Lilywhites manage to prise him away from Stamford Bridge.
