What a night it was for Arsenal last night. The Gunners saw off Wolves thanks to a late, late comeback as they breathed new life into their top four pursuit.

Alexandre Lacazette was the hero at the end as his shot somehow found its way into the Wolves net courtesy of an error from Jose Sa. But the stars of the show towards the end were substitutes Nicolas Pepe and Eddie Nketiah, who both had hands in the goals.

But in the first XI, there were also a number of good performances once more. Martin Odegaard was excellent again, while the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabi Martinelli probed and worked hard all night. Indeed, there was some obvious signs of leadership on display from Odegaard, who was excellent on the night.

And as pointed out by Football.London, Odegaard could be seen spending part of his night telling Saka exactly where to stand and run for the Norwegian’s passes in the final third. Indeed, as we’ve already reported, Odegaard could be seen looking absolutely exhausted at the final whistle.

At 23, Odegaard is becoming a real leader. Mikel Arteta previously spoke of his admiration for the ‘tremendous’ Odegaard, and the Norwegian seems to be repaying the manager’s faith.

TBR’s View: Odegaard And Saka Key To Arsenal Success

If Arsenal are to have some sort of success under Mikel Arteta, then this pair are going to be crucial.

Odegaard is proving to be an outstanding signing and Saka just keeps getting better and better. Along with the likes of Smith Rowe, White and Martinelli, the Gunners have some outstanding young talent.

Last night felt huge for Arsenal. And Odegaard, in particular, showed why some are touting him as the next captain if Alexandre Lacazette leaves this summer.
