Manuel Lanzini reacts as Erik Lamela seals Spurs exit

Manuel Lanzini was amongst those to send a message to Erik Lamela after the Spurs star took to Instagram following his Premier League exit and move to Sevilla.

Lamela’s long spell with Tottenham is now over after eight years. In that time, he certainly made an impact.

It may not have been the overwhelming positive spell Spurs may have hoped for. But he still produced a number of moments that will be remembered for a long time.

However, it does appear that Spurs have produced a fantastic piece of business.

Lamela has moved as part of a swap deal involving Bryan Gil. The 20-year-old has also cost Tottenham around £21.5 million.

Certainly, it appears that a number of Spurs players will miss Lamela. Several responded to his initial Instagram message marking the end of his stay at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

But it seems that one rival will also be sad to see the 29-year-old leave the capital.

Lamela was back on social media on Monday to express his delight about his move to Andalusia…

And one of the players to reply was West Ham star Lanzini. He paid tribute to his countryman as a friend and wished him ‘all the success in the world’…

If Gil realises his potential, there is no question that Tottenham will be delighted with the deal to bring him to the club – and with that, the deal to let Lamela go.

Lamela’s moments of outrageous quality were, unfortunately, too few and far between.

So using him to land one of the most exciting Spanish talents around could prove to be a masterstroke.
