Report: Solskjaer could beat Arsenal to £25m 'superstar' signing, according to Fabrizio Romano

Manchester United could be about to beat Arsenal to the signing of Rennes midfielder, Eduardo Camavinga, in a bargain £25m deal.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who took to his Twitter account late last night to suggest a deal is being discussed.

Camavinga is high on the list of a number of clubs this summer. Those clubs included Arsenal, and his name had fans pretty excited back in May.

However, per Romano, it appears United are now stepping on the gas to improve their own squad. The capture of Jadon Sancho seems to have sprung Ed Woodward and co into life.

Camavinga, who has been tipped to become a ‘superstar’ by his agent Jonathan Barnett, is also wanted by PSG.

Reports this weekend claimed that Camavinga will definitely be on his way this summer. Old Trafford, it seems, could beckon for the midfielder.

Intention

While Arsenal try and wheel and deal their way through this window, in come Manchester United with two enormous splashes of intent.

The capture of Sancho was one thing. But landing Camavinga, who is so highly-rated across all of Europe, is one big signing. And at a bargain £25m or so, officials at Old Trafford will be grinning from ear to ear.

For Arsenal, it seems they can’t quite get those big midfield signings over the line. Camavinga would have ticked so many boxes. But, alas, their lack of European football may cost them again.
