Manchester United sent their scouts to Goodison Park last weekend to watch Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite in action.
The January transfer window is proving to be a difficult one for many clubs. That’s why some of them are already planning for the summer, and Manchester United are reportedly interested in Branthwaite, who is having a fine season at Everton.

Manchester United scouts watched Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite
Everton took on Aston Villa at the weekend in a game that ended 0-0.
Jarrad Branthwaite started and played the full 90 minutes, and the 21-year-old continues to impress in the Premier League under Sean Dyche.
The youngster’s performances are attracting interest from plenty of big clubs. Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move to sign him, as have Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid.
The Daily Mail now claim that Manchester United sent their scouts to Goodison Park last weekend to monitor Branthwaite’s progression.
A move this month is extremely unlikely, but there is a big chance Branthwaite will leave Everton and join a bigger club in the summer transfer window.
Everton have slapped a £75 million price tag on his head (Football Transfers), a figure that may go up in the coming months if Branthwaite continues to impress.

Branthwaite would be a great signing for Manchester United
Manchester United haven’t had a great season at all, and they have problems in attack, midfield and also in defence.
Raphael Varane looks like a shadow of the player he once was at Real Madrid, while Victor Lindelof isn’t at the level required. Harry Maguire, who has arguably been United’s best defender this season, isn’t really fancied by Erik ten Hag, is he?
A new defender should be a priority for Manchester United in the summer, and Branthwaite would be a really good addition.
The Everton man has everything you’d want in a centre-back. He’s tall, strong, good on the ball, excellent in the air and his positioning is fantastic for his age too. The fact that he is still only 21 means he will only get better in the coming years.
Manchester United are right to pursue a move to sign Branthwaite, but there will surely be other clubs interested in him as well in the summer.
