Brentford manager Thomas Frank has heaped praise on reported Tottenham Hotspur target Christian Eriksen following his performance over the weekend.
Every football fan across the globe will have a smile on their face every time Eriksen does something good on a football pitch. It’s a miracle that the Dane is even playing again and the fact that he’s performing at the highest level shows just how incredible he is.
Eriksen signed a short-term deal with Brentford in January this year and it did take a while for him to get back to full fitness.
He’s there now and he has been absolutely fantastic for the Bees.
Tottenham-linked Christian Eriksen is just a level below Ronaldo and Messi
Since joining Brentford, Eriksen, whose comeback was branded as ‘remarkable and wonderful’ by Gary Lineker, has only played a little over 300 minutes of football in the Premier League.
However, he has already picked up an assist and scored a goal – the latter came against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a game that saw Brentford surprise everyone and beat the European champions 4-1.
Bees boss Thomas Frank is absolutely delighted with Eriksen and he believes that the Dane is just one level below world football’s superstars, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
He told The Monday Night Club on BBC Sport: “Maybe he’s not a superstar like Ronaldo and Messi, but he’s just underneath that. He’s played all the big games you can think about, tried everything.”

Should Tottenham re-sign Eriksen?
The Daily Mail revealed this week that Tottenham and Manchester United are both keeping tabs on Eriksen, who will be available for free in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Antonio Conte knows the Dane very well thanks to their time together at Inter Milan. They even won the Scudetto together last year and a reunion does make sense – not just because they have a good relationship.
The one thing Tottenham are lacking at the moment is a midfielder who can score and create goals consistently. Ironically, they haven’t had that ever since Eriksen left the club, and it is no surprise that they have struggled in that period.
Spurs will have the chance to bring him back in the summer for free and Tottenham fans will surely welcome him back with open arms if it does happen.
