Report: Surprise Tottenham target Gnabry considering Bayern exit

Tottenham Hotspur have received a boost amid surprise links with a stunning move for Serge Gnabry, with Goal reporting that the forward is considering leaving Bayern Munich this summer.

Speculation surrounding Gnabry’s future is building ahead of the end of the season. His contract with the Bavarian giants expires at the end of the next campaign.

Reports in February claimed that Tottenham were interested in signing the Bayern star. Meanwhile, Chelsea also had their eye on the 26-year-old.

Obviously, it is hard to know what the Blues will be able to do this summer. But Spurs are right in the mix to secure a return to the Champions League next season. And they may have their sights set on some ambitious moves in the next window.

Of course, Tottenham signing Gnabry would stun many. The winger spent five years on the books at Arsenal earlier in his career. So it would be quite something if Spurs could lure him back to North London.

What will help is that Gnabry is contemplating a new challenge this summer. Previous reports stated that Bayern still expected him to sign a new contract. However, that may now not be the case.

Goal reports that Bayern are not close to agreeing a new contract with Gnabry. And he is now weighing up leaving at the end of this season. Liverpool, Real Madrid and Juventus meanwhile, all want the Germany international.

Tottenham could pull off few deals as impressive as signing Gnabry this summer

Tottenham have a point to prove this summer. They will want to show the likes of Antonio Conte and Harry Kane that they can achieve their ambitions with them.

And few deals would be as exciting as Tottenham signing Gnabry. He has been directly involved in 101 goals during his time with Bayern. And he can play anywhere in the forward line.

He has been described as ‘world-class‘. And at 26, he should be at the peak of his career.

Spurs are certainly going to be underdogs for any deal. But it would seem that the door is now open for someone to potentially secure his signature in the months ahead.
