Micah Richards has lavished praise on Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane and the change in his game we’re seeing now compared to the start of the season.

Kane’s desire to leave Spurs last summer and the transfer saga that followed clearly had an impact on his form early in the campaign.

The Englishman just didn’t look like his previous self in the first few months of the season. That is one of the biggest reasons why Spurs were so poor and Nuno Espirito Santo faced the sack.

Now, under Antonio Conte, Kane is a different player, and his performance against Manchester City not too long ago truly wowed Richards, who watched the game live.

Micah Richards: Harry Kane is playing the best football of his Tottenham career

Speaking on The Monday Night Club on BBC Sounds, Richards said: “I would agree with that, 100% [he’s playing the best football of his career].

“The game against Manchester City, when I was at the game live, I was like ‘wow’. He’s back and he’s back with a bang. The first half of the season with all that was happening, it was like I’m going to show everyone how much of a good player I am.

“I remember a couple of seasons ago when he got the most assists in the Premier League, so we know he can do that.

“It’s even more evident now. Before he used to drop into the pockets and just look for Son, but now he’s doing that and playing one-twos off the front ones, and then looking for long ones, so he’s like dictating the play from a number nine role.”

Kane really has found his feet again and he’s now a more complete player than ever before.

Despite his underwhelming start to the campaign, the Englishman has scored 22 goals and has provided seven assists in all competitions so far.

That is a tremendous return for any player and it is very likely that there will be another saga when the summer transfer window opens in a few months’ time.

However, Tottenham should be a lot more confident about retaining his services now, all thanks to Conte.
