Ben Doak sends message on Instagram to Stefan Bajcetic
Liverpool returned to winning ways last night as they overcome a tough trip to Molineux in the FA Cup.
A sensational first-half strike from Harvey Elliott eventually decided the contest, as Liverpool now face another trip to Brighton.
The 18-year-old was awarded another start by Jurgen Klopp and certainly didn’t disappoint.
Liverpool awarded Bajcetic their player of the match award after his display in midfield.
Klopp heavily rotated his squad after their disappointing defeat to Brighton at the weekend.
He certainly got a response from his squad in the first-half, who were vastly improved.
However, Wolves were on top for much of the second-half, but couldn’t test Caoimhin Kelleher in the Liverpool goal enough.
The Spanish youngster was struggling with cramp in the second-half, a sign of how much work he was putting in last night.
Nevertheless, he impressed his Liverpool teammates once again with his performance.
Bajcetic impresses in the FA Cup
The teenager posted on Instagram after the match, saying: “Massive win for us today, the fans were unreal. Onto the next round.”
Kostas Tsimikas simply said, “Congrats kid”, while Harvey Elliott said he was, “Class lad”.
Ben Doak called Bajcetic a “Maestro”, which was very appropriate after his latest outing for the Reds.
Doak also made a significant impact when he came off the bench for the final 15 minutes.
His neat touches, quick acceleration and impressive link-up play help Liverpool retain possession when they were under pressure.
Bajcetic was hailed during the mid-season break whenever he turned out for the first team.
Pep Lijnders has said that he’s caught his eye in training, and he’s been a constant in the Liverpool matchday squad this season.
The future of Liverpool’s midfield is a big talking point at the club right now.
With the likes of Moises Caicedo and Jude Bellingham linked with moves to Liverpool, there’s clearly a problem that needs solving.
Bajcetic’s performance in the FA Cup could give Klopp a selection headache going forward.
He may have to sacrifice one of his more senior players to get the youngster into the side.
