Luka Vuskovic couldn’t have asked for a much better Tottenham Hotspur debut.

The defender marked his first appearance for the North London club with a goal and an assist against Reading.

TBR Football gave Vuskovic an 8/10 for his display against Reading, as he impressed at both ends of the pitch for Thomas Frank’s side.

Tottenham have high hopes for Vuskovic, and his debut showed why the Lilywhites strongly believe they have a diamond in their ranks.

Luka Vuskovic on playing alongside Micky van de Ven

Luka Vuskovic has admitted it was an ‘amazing experience’ to play alongside Micky van de Ven during his debut for Spurs.

The 18-year-old helped Tottenham Hotspur open the scoring as his flick on from Mohammed Kudus’ corner was turned in by Will Lankshear.

The Croatian international then got his name on the scoresheet with a wonderful strike, as he stroked the ball home from just inside the Royals’ penalty area.

When asked about playing with players like Guglielmo Vicario, Vuskovic told SpursOfficial: “Of course, Vicario, Van de Ven, besides me, it was a really amazing experience, and I hope we can continue.”

Van de Ven, who cost Tottenham £43m, played 45 minutes against Reading, as Frank rotated the entire starting eleven at the break.

In addition to the Dutch defender and Vuskovic, Spurs’ new head coach now has several very exciting central defensive options, including Cristian Romero, Kevin Danso, Ashley Phillips and Kota Takai.

TBR Football understands that Radu Dragusin is expected to be sold by Tottenham, as the Romanian continues his rehab from an ACL injury.

Dragusin is already back training on grass, which has left supporters amazed, having suffered such a bad injury only five months ago.

Thomas Frank hailed Luka Vuskovic’s performance against Reading

Frank hailed Vuskovic’s performance against Reading, and the 51-year-old said he was so impressed by his goal.

The former Brentford boss claimed that the teenager showed his physicality against Reading and also his composure.

Speaking to SpursOfficial, Frank admitted: “I agree, Luka deserves the praise as well. Also, an assist, a great header, and he showed his physicality.

“He showed his composure on the ball as well, he’s not getting stressed when the ball’s getting close and what a strike!”

Vuskovic will get another chance to impress next Saturday when Spurs take on Luton Town in their second pre-season match.
