Report: Tottenham's 'amazing' attacker likely to leave North London next summer
Tottenham managed to not only add to their squad this summer but keep a lot of key fringe players onboard too, one of which was Lucas Moura.
The Brazilian was subject to interest from the likes of Aston Villa and Newcastle late in the window but in the end, Spurs kept hold of the former PSG man. Of course, Antonio Conte said all along he’d only let someone go with a new player arriving and he stuck to his word.
However, 90Min claims today that a move away from Tottenham remains likely for Lucas, although it won’t be until the end of the season and is more likely to be back to Brazil. It’s suggested Sao Paulo are the club most likely to offer Lucas a route out of the Premier League.
Moura has been a key cog for Spurs under a number of different managers now and has been dubbed as being an ‘amazing‘ player thanks to his efforts in North London. Despite a number of summer arrivals, Lucas’ versatility means he is still valued by Antonio Conte too.
TBR’s View: Lucas Moura Well Respected By Tottenham Fans
There wouldn’t be any sort of animosity towards Lucas if he did move on from Spurs and the fans are likely to appreciate his efforts over a number of years rather than lose sleep over him going.
The Brazilian has been a fine servant for the club and while there’s been inconsistencies in his game and he might not have hit the heights some thought he might while with PSG, he’s been a good signing overall.
A move back to Brazil would suit Lucas nicely but don’t bet against Premier League sides making their move either, given his quality and experience at this level.
