Liverpool have considered making a move for Tottenham forward, Heung-Min Son, as the Reds gear up to try and replace Sadio Mane.
According to Football.London, Liverpool have Son on their list of potential signings and had been preparing a bid for the South Korean before Spurs secured Champions League football. FL reports how a deal is now off the table, given Son’s important to both Tottenham and Antonio Conte.
Liverpool are being forced into a mini rethink in terms of summer plans, with Sadio Mane now expected to leave the club. Bayern Munich are waiting in the wings to land the ex-Southampton man.

Interest in Son is no surprise, of course. The Tottenham star was the main man for Spurs this season just gone, winning the golden boot alongside Liverpool’s very own talisman, Mo Salah.
Naturally, Tottenham would have demanded huge money from Liverpool had that bid come in for Son. Having signed for Spurs for just £22m back in 2015, Son has gone on to be a huge success and is widely regarded as one of the very best in the Premier League. Indeed, Michail Antonio recently labelled the forward as a ‘frightening’ player.
Liverpool fans, then, will simply have to sit back and wonder what might have been here it seems.
TBR’s View: Heung-Min Son At Liverpool Would Have Been Ridiculous
The thought of Heung-Min Son in a Liverpool shirt and marauding down the wide areas with the likes of Salah and Diaz is a scary one for other PL sides. Thankfully for those other sides, Tottenham did make the top four and Son will now stay and look to kick on.
For Liverpool, you do have to admire their ambition. Son is one of the best players in the world, so for them to even consider making a move is massive.
