Report: ‘Perfect’ £42m midfielder Liverpool want has already made his mind up ahead of this summer

Reported Liverpool target, Aurelien Tchouameni, has apparently made his mind up about where he wants to move to this summer, with a number of clubs circling.

The Reds are said to be keen on Tchouameni, who has impressed in France this season with some dominating performances for Monaco. A battling and hard-working midfielder, Tchouameni is wanted across the continent after his displays have caught the eye.

However, any hopes Liverpool might have of signing him could be over before they even got started properly. That’s because, according to AS, Tchouameni has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid. AS reports how the Frenchman has made it known to Monaco and those around him that he fancies a move to the Bernabeu.

Of course, this should come as little surprise to Liverpool and other interested clubs. Real Madrid remain a dominant force and Tchouameni’s French international teammate, Karim Benzema, is currently lighting up football.

Regarded as ‘perfect’ for the Premier League by Fabrizio Romano, Tchouameni is valued at least £42m by Monaco, although there has been mentions of them demanding more than £80m as well.

TBR’s View: Liverpool Can Still Get Tchouameni If They Really Push

Just because a player declares his interest in a move to Real Madrid doesn’t mean it’s a done deal. After all, most of us would probably say we are keen no moving to the La Liga club.

Tchouameni is a fine player, mind. And in Liverpool’s midfield, he would tick so many boxes. The Reds need to start planning for the future a bit with the likes of Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago all not getting any younger.

We’ve seen Liverpool can get deals done if they really want to. There’s no reason, then, why they can’t get a transfer done for Tchouameni if they really fancy it.
