Liverpool are reportedly hoping to bring a new midfielder to Anfield in the summer.
The Reds currently have plenty of great options in midfield. And several talented players are also coming through the ranks.
When Georginio Wijnaldum left Liverpool on a free transfer last year, Jurgen Klopp opted to promote from within.
The likes of Curtis Jones and Tyler Morton have been doing incredibly well for the Reds.
Nonetheless, there’s certainly scope for Klopp to bring in fresh legs in midfield during the summer.
And according to Tuttosport, Liverpool have reportedly switched their attention to Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni.

The outlet – via Sport Witness – initially claimed the Reds have been ‘very close’ to Franck Kessie.
However, they then claim Liverpool are ‘now more interested’ in Tchouameni.
La Repubblica – via Milan News – previously reported this week that the 22-year-old was in the Reds’ sights.
As well as Liverpool, the likes of Newcastle, Barcelona and PSG are apparently eyeing Tchouameni too.
In November, TuttoJuve reported that the Frenchman would boast a £42million price tag.
Tchouameni has already made 80 appearances for Monaco and has also won seven France caps.
Cesc Fabregas lauded the player last year on Twitter:
What a signing Tchouameni would be for Liverpool.
But with some other big clubs reportedly eyeing his signature, it won’t be easy.
