Marc Roca was one of a number of Leeds United players to leave the club on loan last summer, and he is set to make that move permanent – not least because something he has done off the pitch.
Roca, 27, has enjoyed a wonderful loan spell at Manuel Pellegrini’s Betis this season – having a hand in seven goals from holding midfield in 35 games. It comes after a difficult few years in his career.
Leaving Espanyol in the summer of 2020, he joined Bayern – but managed just 24 outings in two years and Leeds took advantage. He came to Elland Road, but did little to show why he had been signed.
Often unable to complete 90 minutes, he moved to Betis – after two former Betis players in Junior Firpo and Joel Robles convinced him they were the right club. Now, Roca is expected to sign permanently.

Leeds man Marc Roca buys house in Seville amid Betis loan
He has publicly made it clear that he would like to join Betis and confirmed that talks are ongoing. The left-footed midfielder has made it even more clear that he wants to go permanently to the La Liga side.
Indeed, Estadio Deportivo state that Roca has just bought a house in Seville – clearly, planning to join the Europa League outfit on a permanent basis beyond the loan. They say there is ‘no doubt’ in his mind.
That is, even if Leeds are able to win promotion at the first attempt and return to the Premier League. It looks set in stone then that Roca will be striking a permanent deal – if, Betis can agree a fee with Leeds.
