Arsenal might need to go and get themselves a new striker following Gabriel Jesus’ injury, but Juventus could throw a spanner in the works for the Gunners.

Jesus’ knock has seen a flurry of reports in recent days suggesting a new striker will be signed in January. Just this week, reports from Italy listed four players who Arsenal might sign. Calciomercato claimed that Cody Gakpo, Dusan Vlahovic, Tammy Abraham and Jonathan David all feature on the Gunners’ list. Those four join Portugal star Joao Felix on the list of potential targets.

However, a report from CMW today could spell trouble for Arsenal. They write how Juventus are looking at the possibility of doing a swap deal involving Joao Felix and Dusan Vlahovic. It would be a mega-money swap. given Atletico paid more than £100m for Felix and Juve around £70m for Vlahovic.

Claims have emerged recently that Juventus aren’t fully satisfied with Vlahovic’s output since he signed. Indeed, Liverpool have also been linked with the Serbian recently.

CMW claims that Juve are hoping that Felix’s desire to move on from Atletico could open a door for them. And in turn, it could ruin Arsenal’s hopes of landing either player.

TBR’s View: Felix or Vlahovic would be great for Arsenal

This sounds like a huge swap deal Juventus have planned here. Both Vlahovic and Felix have been some of the most courted players in Europe in recent seasons. The idea of them switching places, then, is intriguing.

In terms of Arsenal’s search for a new forward, either of these players would do well. As we know, the Gunners pursued Vlahovic for some time back in January of 2021. In the end, they missed out.

However, with the team flying high at the top of the PL and Jesus’ injury causing an issue, Arsenal might well sign a big name like Felix or Vlahovic in the end.
