Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has shared his prediction on how well a former Sunderland star will fare away from the Stadium of Light.
Regis Le Bris is flying high in the Premier League as his Sunderland side continues to defy all expectations and are currently sitting sixth in the league table.
Indeed, the Black Cats have impressed upon their return to the top-flight with the 2-0 loss away to fellow promoted side Burnley standing as their only defeat in the opening four matches.
Although there is still plenty of football to be played from now until May, Sunderland appear the most likely of the newly promoted clubs to break the recent trend and retain their Premier League status.

And while this is mostly attributed to the fantastic business conducted throughout the summer transfer window, Bellingham is expecting one former Black Cats star to excel in Europe.
Jobe Bellingham makes his Champions League debut
Jobe Bellingham played a pivotal role at the Stadium of Light as Sunderland achieved promotion to the Premier League after an eight-year absence via the playoffs.
After a stellar season in the second tier, Jobe completed a £27 million move to Borussia Dortmund following his brother Jude’s footsteps, who made the switch to Dortmund from Birmingham City in 2020.
Now Jude is expecting his brother to become a mainstay in the Champions League as he commented on Jobe’s Instagram post following his European debut in Dortmund’s 4-4 draw against Juventus.
Jude wrote: “Congrats brother, many more to come!”
The 19-year-old proved to be one of the hottest commodities on the transfer market, as TBR Football exclusively revealed Manchester United and Crystal Palace wanted Jobe before his move to the Signal Iduna Park.
At one stage, Sunderland were hopeful Jobe would stay put in the North East and that the prospect of playing Premier League football would be enough to convince the midfielder, but unfortunately, he chose to continue his career elsewhere.
However, the big-money sale provided Le Bris with a significant cash influx to improve the squad, and the Frenchman ensured the funds were well spent as 14 new faces arrived throughout the summer, with approximately £163m spent.
Sunderland have done well to replace Jobe Bellingham
Bellingham was widely regarded as one of the most talented players at the Stadium of Light, but it is safe to say that the Black Cats have filled the void left by his departure.
Le Bris opted for a combination of youth and experience when recruiting in the centre of the park, with Habib Diarra and ex-Arsenal man Granit Xhaka emerging as the preferred partnership in central midfield.
Diarra is also a highly-rated young prospect, and Sunderland pulled off a sensational coup in obtaining the Senegalese international’s signature.

And as Bellingham enjoys his first voyage in European football, Xhaka boasts a wealth of Champions League and Europa League experience, having been a key figure in Xabi Alonso’s undefeated Bayer Leverkusen side.
The new pairing of Diarra and Xhaka is more than capable of replacing Bellingham, leaving Sunderland in a much stronger position to avoid relegation.
