Chelsea and Arsenal are not just rivals on the pitch, but it seems like the two London sides are going after the same players in the transfer window as well – Mykhaylo Mudryk, Joao Felix and now, Marcus Thuram.
That’s according to Simon Phillips, who has claimed that the Borussia Monchengladbach and France attacker has made his way near the top of Todd Boehly’s transfer shortlist.

Journalist says Chelsea like yet another Arsenal target – Marcus Thuram
Chelsea are really struggling in the Premier League at the moment. The Blues are currently 10th in the table, 19 points behind league leaders Arsenal.
Things need to change quickly if Chelsea are to make the top four, and their owner, Boehly, is ready to sanction some big, big moves in this month’s transfer window.
The Guardian revealed recently that the Blues are keen to hijack Arsenal’s move for Shakhtar Donetsk star Mudryk, while Chelsea are also said to be interested in Atletico Madrid striker Joao Felix – yet another Gunners target.
That must be really annoying if you’re an Arsenal fan, but Boehly isn’t done just yet. He’s now apparently keen to go after another player Mikel Arteta reportedly wants to sign – Thuram.
Phillips told GiveMeSport: “Chelsea really like Thuram and are stepping up their interest in him.
“He’s made his way up towards the top of the forward shortlist for this window, and he presents an opportunity for Chelsea to land a top forward for a very low fee, with his contract up in the summer.
“I’ve been told he is attainable this month.”

TBR View:
Thuram is a very attractive option to numerous clubs in the Premier League.
The Frenchman has entered the final six months of his contract and this is Borussia Monchengladbach’s last opportunity to get some money off his sale.
Thuram has been brilliant this season. He has scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 17 appearances, which is an excellent return for a forward.
Reports have revealed that the Gladbach star will be available for as little as £9 million this month. That makes him an easy target for many clubs, but whether it’ll be Arsenal or Chelsea or someone else that signs him remains to be seen.
