Arsenal are ready to step up their efforts to try and sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid, as a bid to bring in Mykhaylo Mudryk continues to stall.
Chelsea’s interest in Mudryk has hindered the Gunners hopes of landing the Ukrainian. In a deal that, at one time anyway, looked certain, the Blues’ own interest has scuppered things a bit.
And with the bid to land Mudryk hitting the buffers a bit, The Telegraph is reporting that Arsenal are now ready to step up their bid to sign Joao Felix instead. The Telegraph reports how Arsenal would like both Felix and Mudryk and that the size of the loan fee Atletico want will decide if a deal is done for the Portuguese star.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is desperate to add new faces in January. An injury to Gabriel Jesus has threatened to derail things, albeit the Gunners still sit top of the PL table.
Felix, 23, has been lauded as a ‘world-class‘ player in the past and impressed in the World Cup, getting himself on the scoresheet. He signed for Atletico in a deal worth north of £100m but this season has seen him fall down the pecking order under Diego Simeone.
TBR’s View: Felix and Mudryk the dream for Arsenal
It’s interesting that a number of outlets are claiming Arsenal really want Felix right now. David Ornstein suggested last night he might arrive before Mudryk, so this does seem to have legs.
Of course, dreamland for Arsenal is landing both Mudryk and Felix. If they do that, then suddenly they have attacking options akin to Man City, minus a certain Erling Haaland.
This is a big window for Arsenal you feel. But if, and it’s a big if, they can pull this off, then that title might well be there’s come May.
