Journalist claims Brighton 'laughed off' Tottenham's Leandro Trossard bid

Journalist Charlie Haffenden claims Brighton actually laughed off Tottenham Hotspur’s bid for Leandro Trossard, with Arsenal now in talks to sign the player.

Fabio Paratici is yet to provide Antonio Conte with some fresh faces this month as Tottenham have made a typically slow start to the transfer window.

Spurs are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements and The Athletic reported on Monday that they had made an official bid worth £12 million for Trossard

Of course, the Belgian winger looks set to leave the Amex Stadium after falling out with his boss Roberto De Zerbi.

Tottenham clearly attempted to test the waters with a low opening offer, but it seemingly amused the Brighton board.

Brighton laughed off Tottenham’s Trossard bid

Haffenden took to Twitter today and claimed that the Seagulls will demand around £30 million for Trossard.

And the journalist added that Brighton actually laughed off Tottenham’s opening bid for the 28-year-old.

Fabrizio Romano reported today that Arsenal have now opened talks with Brighton over signing the Belgian attacker.

Tottenham have been known for lowballing during negotiations and it seems that Brighton were far from impressed with their opening offer for Trossard.

The Belgian looks like he could be heading to north London, but not the part that some Spurs fans would have been hoping for.

Trossard has been described as an ‘unreal’ talent and he has certainly impressed for the Seagulls this season. He’s managed seven goals and three assists in just 16 Premier League appearances.

While it looks like Spurs could miss out on Trossard, they have been linked with a move for Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo. Sky Sport claims they’ve already had a loan offer for the 23-year-old turned down.

Spurs fans may be beginning to get frustrated by their side’s lack of activity in the transfer window, especially with Conte’s men going through a difficult run of form.
