Mikel Arteta is continuing to try and push Arsenal forward this season to claim some major silverware, but Jermaine Jenas has questioned one decision he keeps making.
Arteta’s Arsenal have been the nearly-men in the Premier League over the past few seasons, and the Gunners are doing everything possible to change that pattern this season.
Arteta has assembled a talented squad, as Arsenal heavily recruited during the summer transfer window to provide more depth.
However, now that several new first-team options exist, Arteta might have to experiment with his starting lineup to find his best team.

Jermaine Jenas wants to see Eberechi Eze and Martin Odegaard start together
Arsenal signing Eberechi Eze has added a lot of quality to Arteta’s attacking options, especially since he can play in multiple positions for the Gunners.
While he has made a positive start to his Arsenal career, during the latest episode of Wildcards with Jermaine Jenas and Jermaine Pennant, the former Tottenham Hotspur star questioned why Eze hasn’t played with Martin Odegaard.
“Eze was on fire. So, but then, is Arteta ever going to play them both? Is the issue there?
“Because Odegaard, in the Champions League, we were obviously recording this on the Thursday before the Friday kickoff in the Premier League.
“I think Odegaard was serious against Olympiakos last night. I can’t understand why he just doesn’t play them both.
“I would just play one pivot. It would be Zubimendi or Rice, and I’d play Odegaard and Eze all day long.”
Odegaard and Eze starting in the same lineup could provide Arsenal with a real attacking threat, which Arteta may consider.
Martin Odegaard has been proving his doubters wrong for Arsenal
Odegaard has been a key figure in the Arsenal team since he joined the club, but there were some questions over his contributions at the start of the season.
However, in recent weeks, he has begun turning a corner and has reminded fans of his qualities. Odegaard’s performance against Olympiacos was a strong one, showcasing the impact he can have.
Odegaard has provided two assists in all competitions so far this season, the same number as Eze.
While Eze has also scored once, they’re two of Arsenal’s most creative players, and having them on the pitch simultaneously threatens to provide more options.
