Eberechi Eze already thinks Arsenal have the most intelligent player he’s ever seen

Arsenal midfielder Eberechi Eze has already made quite the impression since his late summer move from Crystal Palace.

Despite some of Arsenal’s rivals’ best efforts, Eberechi Eze ultimately decided that he wanted to play his football at the Emirates Stadium.

Judging by Eze’s start at Arsenal, the 27-year-old appears to have made the right choice – he’s already integral for Mikel Arteta, even if he does often switch positions.

Speaking before Sunday’s win over Newcastle, Eze said he had learnt a lot from Arteta already – a familiar comment from a new arrival in N5.

Arteta is the mastermind behind Arsenal’s successful rebuild over the years, and now adding players of Eze’s quality is almost the bonus era for the Spanish boss.

All that being said, Eze has just made some interesting claims about some of his new Arsenal teammates in an interview with Stadium Astro.

As part of the chat, Eze was asked to build his perfect footballer.

In doing so, Eze picked the best football IQ, the best right foot, left foot and so on.

And as part of his selection, Eze included all of Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Magalhaes and Noni Madueke.

On his part, Odegaard hailed Martin Zubimendi’s intelligence recently, and it’s clear that Arteta really has assembled such a well-rounded squad.

Since his move from Palace, Eze has fitted in so seamlessly at Arsenal – he’s got the attitude, ability and confidence to succeed at such a big club.

And if asked the question, Odegaard would probably be full of praise for Eze’s game intelligence too.

Can Eberechi Eze and Martin Odegaard thrive in the same Arsenal team?

Once Arteta has all of his players fully fit and firing, there will be fierce competition for places at Arsenal.

And in terms of who starts as Arteta’s number 10, Odegaard, Eze and Ethan Nwaneri are all competing for the role.

Arsenal changed their plan for Nwaneri over the summer after deciding that he wasn’t progressing as a right winger.

But fortunately for Arsenal, it does appear as if Eze can thrive on the left, meaning he and Odegaard can play in the same team.

And when Arsenal face West Ham on Saturday, it’s conceivable that Eze and Odegaard will start together – a frightening prospect for new Hammers boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
