Everton’s quick start to the campaign has faded slightly, with only one win coming in their last five Premier League matches.
The Toffees looked like a side reinvigorated by a flurry of new signings and the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium early on.
However, recent results have gone against Everton, and David Moyes is tasked with turning that form around to avoid a potential Premier League relegation battle.
With that in mind, Jamie Carragher believes that one January transfer signing could help propel the team up the league.

Jamie Carragher tells Everton to sign a striker in January
Everton had a busy summer transfer window, which saw them make nine signings in a bid to bolster the options available to David Moyes.
Some have been a success early on, such as Jack Grealish’s loan move from Manchester City and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s switch from Chelsea.
There remains uncertainty over some, with Tyler Dibling yet to get a consistent run of minutes, while Thierno Barry has struggled to find the back of the net.
As a result, Carragher has called for Everton to go after a striker in the January transfer window when speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.
He said: “I’m not saying Everton will go down, I don’t believe that at all, but they don’t want to be looking over their shoulder for the rest of the season.
“So what I’m trying to say is, Everton need to find a striker. What they’ve got right now is not good enough, and that reason alone could mean that between now and the end of the season, they are looking over their shoulders in terms of staying in the Premier League.
“So they’ve got new owners in, obviously a lot better than what they’ve had before, but that is the one glaring position that Everton need to fill in January. They have to find somebody.”
The recent struggles of both Thierno Barry and Beto have been summed up by their scoring tally, with the former missing a golden opportunity in Everton’s draw with Sunderland.

Thierno Barry and Beto struggles for Everton are a key problem
David Moyes has clearly struggled to pick a striker in recent weeks, consistently changing between Beto and Barry in his starting lineup.
The pair only have one Premier League goal between them, highlighting just how much the Toffees have been reliant on others to score.
The Everton boss has addressed those scoring chances after Everton’s draw with Sunderland, when he told Sky Sports: “We did all the things we hoped we would [at the start], it was a case of would we score. Iliman Ndiaye scored a very good individual goal, Jack [Grealish] hits the post, and when Thierno’s [Barry] chance missed, we didn’t have enough.
“We conceded immediately after kick-off. Goals make the difference and can change how you feel as a manager.”
It’s been tough for Moyes to pick his starting striker each week, suggesting he isn’t completely satisfied with his options.
Now, Everton face a decision in the January transfer window surrounding possible replacements up front.
