Arne Slot is yet to call upon Curtis Jones as he’s spent the first part of the season out injured, but there may just be some hope for Liverpool.
Liverpool will be desperate to pick up where they left off prior to the international break.
Arne Slot‘s side enjoyed a 3-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford in what was the most accomplished performance since he took charge.
The middle of midfield was a talking point for the Reds prior to the season starting, as Slot was eyeing Martin Zubimendi.
But, Ryan Gravenberch’s fantastic start to the season has made Liverpool fans forget all about the lack of a number 6 signing, with the position now his own.
James Pearce has now provided an update on Curtis Jones who could add some much-needed cover in midfield after Harvey Elliott’s injury.

James Pearce issues Curtis Jones injury update at Liverpool ahead of Nottingham Forest
Curtis Jones picked up a suspected groin injury in training during pre-season which has seen him miss the opening few games in the Premier League.
Speaking on the Athletic’s Walk On podcast, James Pearce has provided a bit of an update on his chances.
“Yes Curtis Jones was missing before the break but he should be fit for the weekend.”
John Barnes was impressed with Jones in pre-season, stating that he looked right at home in Arne Slot’s new system at Liverpool and he may now finally get the chance to show it in the top-flight.
Where could Curtis Jones fit in?
Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai have been the preferred options in the middle of midfield for Liverpool so far this season.
However, Mac Allister had some injury issues surrounding him whilst away on international duty, as Lionel Scaloni came out and revealed that the midfielder was in pain.
He played in both games for Argentina, so he appears to be fine, but Slot may not want to take a chance on him at the weekend, which could open the door for Jones.
Wataru Endo is another player who could work his way into a starting place after impressing with a goal on international duty for Japan.
