Idrissa Gueye now posts wordless reaction on Instagram after Everton sign Amadou Onana

Everton confirmed the signing of Amadou Onana from Lille yesterday, and Idrissa Gana Gueye, who could be on his way to Goodison Park as well, has reacted to the announcement.

The Toffees had a season to forget last time around. The Rafa Benitez gamble, as many Everton fans predicted before the season even began, just didn’t work out, and Frank Lampard was brought in to clear up the mess in January.

The Englishman managed to keep the Toffees in the Premier League and he deserves immense credit for that. He now has a huge job on his hands, but his signings so far, at least on paper, look good.

Onana is the latest addition, and the Belgian could soon be joined by a player who Everton fans know very well – Gueye.

Everton have been linked with a number of players this summer, but it was a surprise to see them sign Onana, especially after it seemed like he was off to West Ham.

Lampard and co deserve immense praise for getting this deal done. The young Belgian midfielder was fantastic in the Ligue 1 for Lille last season, and if he adapts well in the Premier League, he could prove to be an incredible player for Everton this term.

After the Toffees announced his signing, they posted several pictures of Onana on Instagram. Under one of those, Gueye, a rumoured Everton target, reacted with three fire emojis.

It’s safe to say, he approves the signing!

Everton definitely haven’t done anything sensational in this summer’s transfer window yet. However, they have made a few solid signings.

James Tarkowski and Conor Coady at the back are really good additions. Both players know the Premier League well and in front of Jordan Pickford, they could make the Toffees a really hard side to score against.

Onana is a solid signing as well, but what could make him even better is an experienced head alongside him.

That player looks like it will be Gueye, who is set to join the Toffees from PSG very soon.
