Liverpool have finally got their man as Federico Chiesa has been announced as a new signing for the Merseyside club.

The Reds have been chasing Federico Chiesa ever since Jurgen Klopp was in charge, so to finally get their man will come as a big relief to the Liverpool chiefs.

Liverpool have spent just £11million for Chiesa, which is almost four times less than Juventus paid for him.

Chiesa is set to be on a wage of £115,000 per week at Anfield, which isn’t too dissimilar to his earnings in Turin, which makes the deal look even better.

One Liverpool legend in particular was quick to reach out to Federico Chiesa as he sent him a three-word message on Instagram…

Ian Rush welcomes Federico Chiesa to Liverpool on Instagram

Ian Rush is a Liverpool legend and the club’s all-time leading goalscorer, so there really isn’t anyone better to receive a welcome message from.

He appears to be the first involved with the club to reach out to the 26-year-old on Liverpool’s official Instagram post, with just a ‘Welcome to Liverpool’ along with the Italian flag emoji.

Although Chiesa may not have the same goalscoring ability as Rush does, he does possess the qualities to be a success at Liverpool.

Any other deals in the pipeline for Liverpool?

Liverpool are eyeing a move for attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki, who is also being offered to other Premier League clubs including Crystal Palace.

At centre-back, Goncalo Inacio is another who’s supposedly attracting interest from Liverpool and a move was being readied by Arne Slot for Mohamed Simakan.

However, at this point of the window it’s hard to know what is and isn’t true.

If Liverpool were to end the window after the Chiesa signing then it wouldn’t be the end of the world as they’re pretty stocked, but it would be preferable if a centre-back was signed as Nathaniel Phillips is currently the club’s fourth choice and he’s barely played in recent years.
