Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus helped himself to a goal and an assist last night as the Gunners won over in Seville.

Jesus first set up Gabi Martinelli with a wonderful turn and pass to set Arsenal on their way. The Brazilian number nine then scored himself, firing into the top corner to score a brilliant goal.

However, it seems Jesus’ assist got more attention than his actual goal. And speaking to the press after the game, the former Man City man saying he’s always telling the Gunners defenders to find him.

Speaking to the press immediately after full-time, Jesus admitted that he’s always making a point to the Arsenal defenders to find his feet.

“I think the assist was good. I say all the time you know, to our defenders to clear the ball and to try to find me. And today, Gabi, Gabriel Magalhaes did today and then I can control and put the ball down. Then I just turn and I see Martinelli run,” Jesus said.

Jesus later left the field with an injury and could well miss the next fixture this weekend against Sheffield United.

Jesus back to his best but worrying signs

This was the Gabriel Jesus that we saw at Man City so often. The Brazilian was a constant menace for the Sevilla defence and his goal and assist were both things of beauty.

For Jesus, it was a sign he was back to his very best and Arsenal fans were rightly excited by the performance.

The problem now is he’s injured again. And even if it looks a minor one, there’s every chance it could end up being worse, just like when Martinelli went off a few weeks back.

Hopefully, Jesus will make a quick recovery. And in fairness, if he is missing, then not being fit to play bottom club Sheffield United is about the best game he could miss.
