Jose Enrique has delivered his verdict on a worrying recent report that claimed Sadio Mane is set to leave Liverpool at the end of this season.
The Senegal international has been one of the Reds’ best players ever since he joined them. He has played 254 times for Liverpool, scored 111 goals and has provided 45 assists in all competitions, which is a stunning record.
Mane was integral in the club’s Premier League and Champions League triumphs as well. If Liverpool are to win those two trophies again this season, the 29-year-old will have to play a big part once more.
However, irrespective of what happens this season, it may well be his last one at Anfield.
Sadio Mane could leave Liverpool this summer
Mohamed Salah’s contract situation isn’t the only one that’s a problem for Liverpool, Mane and Firmino will enter the final year of their deals this summer too.
The priority for Liverpool, unsurprisingly, is Salah, and that’s the right thing. However, it looks like Liverpool are set to lose Mane this summer as a result.
Goal claim that talks between the Reds and Mane’s representatives have gone very quiet over the last few months. That has led to increased speculation that the Senegal international will leave this summer, which is a shame.
Mane’s current £100,000-a-week contract will come to an end at the end of June next year.

Jose Enrique reacts to the news
Ex-Liverpool defender Jose Enrique took to Instagram to have his say on Mane as soon as Goal revealed that talks between the club and the player have not progressed.
The Spaniard believes that people have forgotten how good Mane is and has urged Liverpool to hand him a new deal that would keep him at Anfield beyond the end of next season.
“I hope this is not true and they renew his contract,” Enrique wrote on his Instagram Story.
“(He) still has a lot to give to LFC. People forget very quickly how good he is. Not long ago, he was named the best player in the African Cup of Nations and they (Mane’s Senegal) won that too.”
