With Celtic suffering from a lack of form and Rangers looking resurgent under Philippe Clement, the title race is looking like it will be the closest it has been for a number of years.
With a £60m Champions League jackpot waiting for the winners, both clubs will be doing all they can to ensure they are top of the Scottish Premiership come the end of May.
But with Celtic seemingly in a ‘crisis‘, former defender Gary Gillespie laughed that off. Gillespie was part of the Celtic team in the 90’s where a real crisis was not winning a trophy and the club almost being put out of business.
Now the dominant club in Scotland, Gillespie reckons Brendan Rodgers can turn around Celtic’s fortunes and has given his prediction of who will now win the league.
Gillespie said [Daily Record print edition page 40], “Again, that is the pressure you are working under whether you’re playing or managing for a club such as Celtic.
“If you lose two games, or you drop some points, suddenly everything doesn’t look so rosy.
“Looking from the outside, I still think Celtic are the better of the two sides at the moment when it comes to the league.
“So I do think Brendan will turn things around from what is happening at the moment.”
The Celtic fans will certainly be hoping Gillespie is correct and that Rodgers will reverse this downturn in form.

The performances of late have been a hard watch and it is difficult to see where or who, Rodgers can turn to but one thing is for sure.
If Celtic have designs on winning this league, beating Livingston on Saturday and Dundee on Boxing Day is an absolute must.
If they can’t do that then they can almost forget about any notion of being the league champions at the end of the season.
