TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Aston Villa have contacted Paris Saint-Germain to sign Marco Asensio this January.
Reportedly, PSG were willing to offer Asensio to Villa in a bid to sign Jhon Duran, who seems set to join Al-Nassr after agreeing a £70 million deal with the Saudi Pro League club. Unai Emery’s side seem to have become the biggest headline of the winter transfer window, with Aston Villa asking about signing Mathys Tel as well.
TBR Football were even informed that Aston Villa rejected Arsenal’s second bid for Ollie Watkins as they intend to keep their star striker until the end of the season.
It seems like Aston Villa are determined to ensure their attack is not left too weakened by the end of the ongoing transfer window and one way of doing so could be by adding an experienced player like Asensio to their roster.

Aston Villa contact PSG to sign Marco Asensio
Sources have told TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey that Marco Asensio is ready to leave Paris Saint-Germain — who has dropped down the pecking order under Luis Enrique this campaign.
As a result, Aston Villa are showing interest in the former Real Madrid winger’s signature.
TBR Football were notified that Joao Felix is keen to join Aston Villa and with Emiliano Buendia joining Bayer Leverkusen on loan as well as Duran, who Chelsea chose not to sign last summer also on his way out, there is room in the squad for Asensio to fit in.
Furthermore, the Saudi Pro League are also interested in signing Villans target Asensio, who Cristiano Ronaldo has lauded.

Clearly, it seems like the best move for both the player and the club is move their separate ways.
Unai Emery could now offer Asensio a much-need escape route out of the French capital.
