‘He’s got it all’… Tom Lockyer says Manchester United have a 21-year-old who’s already so complete

Luton Town defender Tom Lockyer believes Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund is already a complete striker.

Rasmus Hojlund has enjoyed quite the upturn in form recently after a slow start to life at Old Trafford.

The 21-year-old had failed to score in the Premier League after his first 14 appearances in the competition. But Hojlund has netted seven in his last six games in the league and is deservedly earning plaudits.

Gary Lineker recently admitted he’s a huge fan of the youngster, while Gary Neville has even compared Hojlund to Manchester City star Erling Haaland.

And after the striker netted a brace to help Manchester United to a 2-1 win at Kenilworth Road on Sunday, Luton’s Tom Lockyer has praised Hojlund.

Lockyer says Hojlund has ‘got it all’

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Lockyer raved about Hojlund after his display on Sunday.

“I look at him and I think he has got it all,” Lockyer said. “He is a good size, he is strong and now he is full of confidence after seven in six.

“There is something there, that’s why he’s at Man United, but that drought he had at the start of the season just showed the resilience to keep going and just believe in himself and back himself to go this is me, this is why I’m here.”

Lockyer also sang Hojlund’s praises on Sunday as he labelled United’s front three as ‘frightening’.

It’s fair to say that the former Atalanta striker has discovered his scoring touch at an ideal time for the Red Devils. Alongside improved team performances, Hojlund’s goalscoring form has put United right back in the mix for a top-four finish.

United were struggling for goals before Christmas but they’ve netted 13 tomes in the league since the turn of the year.

Much of that has been down to Hojlund’s improved form, as well as Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho.
