Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte caused a storm six days ago after he criticised his side’s January transfer business that saw them sign just Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur.
Spurs tried long and hard in January to get multiple deals done. They were linked with a whole host of players from the first day of last month, but they only managed to bring in two in the end.
Fabio Paratici completed deals for Kulusevski and Bentancur in the final few days of the transfer window.
Conte wasn’t really happy with the overall business, but it looks like he has changed his mind now.
Conte changes his stance on Tottenham signing Dejan Kulusevski
Just six days ago, Conte sat down for an interview with Sky Italia and he had his say on Tottenham’s new signings. He claimed that Spurs don’t want experienced players, they only want prospects who are not yet ready for the Premier League.
He said: “Bentancur and Kulusevski are the ideal prospects for Tottenham. Because Tottenham is looking for young players, players to be developed, not ready players.”
In his press conference today, the Italian has completely changed his mind. He now believes Kulusevski, who scored for Spurs against Manchester City, is ready for the Premier League.
Conte said, as per Football London: “Now, we have Dejan, Deki Kulusevski. He is young but he’s ready for this league. You have seen in a tough game that he can give us a lot this season.”

TBR View:
It’s incredible how one good result completely changes the mood around the club.
Conte’s comments from last week convinced everyone that he wasn’t happy with Tottenham’s January business. Some even speculated that he’d walk away at the end of the season, but that seems to have changed now.
Conte is back with a smile on his face and he truly believes Kulusevski is ready to be a big player for Tottenham.
The Italian has even labelled the 21-year-old as ‘fantastic’ and ‘amazing,’ which is a huge compliment, and Spurs fans should be really excited about what’s to come.
