Djed Spence received his first call-up to the England national team following his impressive season at Tottenham Hotspur.
Spence continued to impress in pre-season and then into the new campaign, having particularly impressed against Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the UEFA Super Cup final.
The left-back has shown that he can now handle most attackers in world football, and that is why Thomas Tuchel has named him in his squad.
Harry Kane gave the Tottenham defender a warm welcome to St George’s Park, and Spurs supporters have been loving seeing the pair together.

Harry Kane congratulates Djed Spence for ‘well-deserved’ England call-up
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Kane believes that Djed Spence’s first call-up to the England national team is ‘well-deserved’.
The Three Lions’ captain gave the Spurs defender a nice welcome to the latest England camp for World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.
Tuchel’s team face two crucial qualifying matches to book their ticket for next summer’s World Cup in North America.
Recently, Spence signed a new contract for Tottenham, which was another strong marker in his incredible turnaround at Spurs.
This time last year, Tottenham were trying to sell Spence, and he had just been left out of their Europa League group stage squad.
Fast forward 12 months, and he has won the Europa League with Tottenham, become a key member of Thomas Frank’s squad, signed a new contract and been called up to the England squad.
It’s quite a remarkable story from the 25-year-old, and this England call-up is just another marker in his impressive redemption arc.
After greeting Spence at St George’s Park, Kane said to the full-back: “Congrats on the call-up, well deserved.”
The Tottenham star looked in awe of Kane, which just highlights the respect that the England captain now has from many in the game.
Djed Spence is impressing in England training
Spence has been quick to impress in England training with this brilliant strike right in front of his new manager.
The 25-year-old hasn’t quite been given the recognition he deserves yet for his performances for Spurs, but now, playing for England should give him that platform.
The former Nottingham Forest player is undoubtedly one of the best full-backs in the Premier League and his performances this season have been superb.
Currently, Spence should be the strongest contender to start at left-back at the World Cup when the tournament rolls around in nine months.
