Tottenham have a number of players they may need to sell this summer as they look to strengthen their squad and chop some of the deadwood.
Djed Spence’s future at Tottenham has been questioned at times.
The right-back was said to have no future at Tottenham at one point, but, interestingly, he has been featuring in pre-season.
Indeed, Spence has been playing quite well in Spurs’ friendlies so far, and, from seemingly nowhere, he has a lifeline at Tottenham.
Speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, Dean Jones has been discussing Spence’s future at Spurs, and he says that the defender’s fate is currently up in the air.
The journalist says that the right-back has a 50% chance of leaving Tottenham this summer.

Djed Spence’s chances of leaving Tottenham
According to Jones, Spence’s future could go either way.
“In terms of Djed Spence, it’s quite a 50/50 at the moment. I think there’s still a reasonable chance he goes, and I wouldn’t read too much into it right now, but he does have a lifeline and I didn’t think he’d get one at all,’ Jones said.
What Ange Postecoglou has said about Djed Spence
Djed Spence may just have a lifeline at Spurs.
Indeed, the £20m man is impressing in pre-season, and Ange Postecoglou has even praised Spence for his recent performances.
“Djed did well. He has had a tough couple of years. He is training with us and I think with all of the players they are here with us at the moment and when they are here with us I treat them as Tottenham players unless something suddenly changes,” Postecoglou said.
“He was good tonight. Took his goal well, he contributed well and got an assist.”
Emerson Royal is reportedly set to leave Tottenham, and there may well be a gap as Pedro Porro’s deputy this season that Spence could fill.
There is a chance that Spence could leave, but don’t be shocked if the defender does end up staying at Spurs.
