Graham Dorrans says Celtic have a player Rangers fans wished they had in their team right now

With the Glasgow Derby getting ever closer, the Celtic fans will be desperate to see some of their best players start to show some good form this month.

So far, Kyogo Furuhashi has found it difficult to recapture the goalscoring form that saw him become one of the Scottish Premiership’s deadliest strikers.

But one player that has been ‘frightening‘ this season is one that former Rangers player, Graham Dorrans, believes the fans of his old club wished they had in their team right now.

Dorrans said [The Go Radio Football Show], “In terms of [Sam] Lammers again he’s come in, he’s an honest player and he’s done okay.

“But if you look at Celtic, you need Lammers to be you’re sort of Matt O’Riley type.

“That’s what you need. The numbers that Matt O’Riley gets and the assists, that’s what the Rangers fans would be looking for from Lammers.”

Even the most hardened of Rangers fans can’t deny they wish they had a player of O’Riley’s quality in their midfield.

The 23-year-old has been a sensational signing for Celtic and continues to go from strength to strength. His recent performance in the Champions League where he set up a beautiful assist for the winner over Feyenoord.

Not only that, but his prominent rise to the international stage has been superb. Think about it, just over two years ago, this was a player who was training on his own in a local park with his dad and without a club.

He is now one of, if not the, best player in Scotland right now. And to think he only cost £1.5m from MK Dons. They must be kicking themselves right now.

Valued at well over £10m, O’Riley will eventually go for big money, especially as he signed a new five year deal this summer.
