Nicolas Jackson has opened his account for Bayern Munich this week during their 5-1 win against Pafos in the Champions League.
Vincent Kompany’s side continued their undefeated start in the European competition after beating Chelsea in the opening game week with a strong performance away from home.
Harry Kane’s brace, as well as goals by Jackson, Raphael Guerreiro, and Michael Olise, sealed the result for the German side, which currently sits top of the league phase of the competition.
However, for Jackson it was a particularly memorable night as this was his first goal since making the move from Chelsea in the summer.

German media issue their verdict on Nicolas Jackson’s first Bayern Munich goal
Jackson played the entire 90 minutes against Pafos and was used up front, with Kane taking up the number 10 role, and it was a combination that worked.
After four games for the club, Jackson scored his first goal and provided an assist in a positive individual performance, and the German media were quick to react.
Ran assessed Jackson’s performance, making it clear that while he had a good game, he was still wasteful with some of his opportunities.
“He got off to a good start, broke free a few times, and tried a lot. Initially, his moves were very imprecise. He then played a strong one-two with Guerreiro to make it 2-0, earning his first assist for Bayern (20′).
“He repeatedly played as a wall player and distributed the ball cleverly there. He added the first goal after the first assist (31′).
“He then showed again in the 69th minute why he was called a waste of chances on the island and was lucky that Olise converted the follow-up.
“He also hit the post shortly before the end. Nevertheless, a very strong performance from the striker, showing where things can go.”
Elsewhere, Sport.de graded his performance a 2.0, as they also highlighted the fact that Jackson missed plenty of obvious chances throughout the game.
“He was well integrated into Bayern’s game and participated in many of their beautiful combinations. He cleverly passed the ball to Guerreiro before the 2-0 goal.
“He celebrated his first goal for Bayern shortly afterwards. However, the evening wasn’t a truly decisive moment. After the break, he had a few more blatant missed shots.”
Spox also mentioned Jackson’s individual efforts when reflecting on the game as a whole.
“FC Bayern Munich continues to march from victory to victory. In the 5-1 win against FC Pafos, Raphael Guerreiro and Nicolas Jackson also made their first positive impressions.”
Nicolas Jackson’s stats for Bayern Munich showcase his impact against Pafos
Jackson is currently only on a season-long loan at Bayern Munich, but the Bundesliga is obligated to buy him in the summer if he starts at least 40 games for the club.
That means the Chelsea loanee is essentially looking to play his way into a permanent contract, making every match count for him.
That is why getting off the mark and starting to contribute goals and assists is crucial for Jackson if he wants to stay at Bayern Munich in the long term.
| Match Stats | Jackson |
| Total Shots | 6 |
| Shots On Target | 5/6 (83%) |

Elsewhere, he was 86 per cent accurate with his passes and he managed seven touches in the opposition box.
However, Jackson also lost the most duels on the pitch, as the Pafos defenders proved comfortable taking the ball from him.
