Peter Crouch has told Nottingham Forest to turn to two club legends after sacking Ange Postecoglou.
Postecoglou was dismissed just minutes after Forest’s 3-0 defeat against Chelsea at the City Ground on Saturday lunchtime.
Evangelos Marinakis was spotted leaving his seat and heading back inside during the second half, clearly having decided to pull the trigger just eight games into the Australian’s tenure.
Nottingham Forest could now appoint a manager to steer them through until the end of the season, before making a longer-term hire, and they have entered talks with Sean Dyche.

Peter Crouch recommends Ian Woan and Steve Stone
Dyche is likely to bring his trusted backroom staff with him, and handily, two Forest legends, Ian Woan and Steve Stone, are among them.
As a result, Peter Crouch believes hiring Dyche is a no-brainer for the Premier League strugglers.
“I do, I do, it’s whether or not he can get a long-term deal,” the pundit said on TNT Sports.
“I worked with Sean Dyche and I loved working with him. Ian Woan and Steve Stone are two club legends.
“If the club needs a lift, which it does at the moment, those two coming in would lift the spirits of the place, two absolute legends.”
Woan made over 200 appearances for Forest between 1990 and 2000 and was a team-mate of Stone, who enjoyed his own glittering stint at the club from 1989 to 1999.
Peter Crouch on Ange Postecoglou’s sacking
Crouch admitted he was not surprised by Postecoglou’s sacking, but the timing of the club statement, which came mere minutes after the final whistle, did catch him off guard.
“The empty seat spoke volumes,” he added. “It was pretty obvious that the decision was going to be made. I thought he [Evangelos Marinakis] might let the dust settle for a couple of hours, but this chairman doesn’t mess about.
“The way the crowd were, it was almost a toxic atmosphere before the game. I do think it was beginning to be a real problem.”
