Just liked the majority of Premier League games, Tottenham Hotspur’s encounter with Newcastle United contained plenty of controversy.
One of the key moments of the match was the decision to award Callum Wilson’s goal.
A through ball from Fabian Schar is met just outside his box by Hugo Lloris before he collides with Wilson.

The Newcastle striker stays on his feet while Lloris goes down before the forward coolly slots the ball over the head of Eric Dier.
After a lengthy VAR check, the goal was eventually awarded, much to the annoyance of Lloris.
However, Gallagher agreed that Wilson’s goal should have stood yesterday.
Minutes later, Miguel Almiron capitalised on a poor pass from Lloris and doubled Newcastle’s lead.
Wilson’s goal should have stood – Gallagher
Speaking on Sky Sports News about all the biggest referee decisions of the weekend, Gallagher was questioned about Wilson’s goal.
Even when grilled by former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson, Gallagher insisted that Wilson’s goal correctly stood.
“I think it’s a good goal. For me, there’s nothing wrong, he’s (Wlison) there, Lloris goes into him, I don’t know where Callum Wilson can go,” Gallagher said.
“For me, it’s good play, a good finish, but I think the referee’s absolutely right to give the goal, it was checked by VAR and they concurred.
“I look at that, and I don’t think there’s enough evidence for the referee to give a foul against him.
“Once the referee’s given the goal on-field, the VAR isn’t going to get involved.”
It was a massive result for Newcastle as it took them into the top four of the Premier League.

Eddie Howe may not have been expecting to be competing for Europe so early in his tenure.
However, the performances of the likes of Bruno Guimaraes and Miguel Almiron have taken his team to another level.
They were certainly helped a lot by Wilson’s goal be allowed to stand yesterday.
However, their overall performance was good enough to earn some luck as they outplayed Tottenham in the first-half, before controlling the game in the closing stages.
