Rio Ferdinand has told his YouTube channel that he does believe that Manchester City will go back in for Harry Kane this summer after his performance for Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.
Kane has reminded everyone of just how good he can be in emphatic fashion. The 28-year-old scored a ‘brilliant‘ brace for Antonio Conte’s men as they surprised the champions and won 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium.

The result undoubtedly breathes fresh life into the Premier League title race and the battle for the top-four. But it also highlights the importance of Tottenham keeping Kane if they hope to realise their ambitions under Conte.
It was surely Kane’s best display since last summer – even if his form has generally been a lot better than many will seemingly give him credit for. And it seemed fitting that it came against City given how heavily linked they were with a move.
Pep Guardiola’s men have not yet signed another striker. So some may be wondering whether they will go back to try and sign Kane from Tottenham this summer.

Certainly, Ferdinand does now expect Guardiola to make a fresh move for the striker.
“After seeing that at the weekend, yeah. I think he does, I think he goes back in,” he told his YouTube channel.
“Get a cut-down fee, 70ish, which, in today’s market, was like £5 million back in my day, I reckon he does. If City buy him, they clean up.”
Tottenham fans will hope for quick resolution – whatever happens with Harry Kane this summer
The ideal scenario for Tottenham will surely be that Kane signs a new contract and commits the peak years of his career to his boyhood club.
However, they will also be aware that it is unlikely to be that easy. And with that, some may be wary about the prospect of Kane wanting to leave.
If Kane does want to go, Tottenham fans will likely have little patience with him after what went on last year. And they may ultimately feel that it is in their best interests to sell.
Whatever happens, Tottenham need to know where they stand early on in the window. If he goes, they can get on with trying to replace him. And if he stays, Conte can continue to build his team around him.
