Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arsenal star Nuno Tavares has received offers from clubs in three different countries.
The 22-year-old only joined the Gunners last summer. Arsenal paid just £6.8 million to bring him in from Benfica (Guardian), and his early performances made people believe that Mikel Arteta and Edu had found a real gem.
However, Tavares’ form and confidence took a huge hit following the turn of the year, especially after Kieran Tierney’s season-ending injury. The youngster made a number of mistakes, and that’s probably why Arsenal are thinking of loaning him out.
Romano has now revealed what he knows about all the rumours linking young Tavares with a move away this summer.
Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal star Nuno Tavares has offers from multiple foreign clubs
Arsenal have been linked with quite a few backup left-backs over the last few weeks. Lisandro Martinez is reportedly the main target, but recent reports have claimed that Arteta is looking at Benfica star Alex Grimaldo too.
Asked if he has an update on the Grimaldo rumours, Romano said on the Que Golazo Podcast: “Not yet. Arsenal now have different priorities.
“Tavares has many proposals. Spanish clubs, French clubs and Italian clubs are all interested in him, but at the moment, Arsenal are not accepting any bid for Tavares.
“So, let’s see. I saw these rumours, but at the moment, I’m told it’s not something like close or imminent.”

TBR View:
Selling Tavares after just one season at Arsenal would be really harsh, but loaning him out could prove to be an incredibly smart decision by Arteta and Edu.
The young Portuguese full-back was brilliant in the first half of last season. He even kept a fully-fit Kieran Tierney out of the starting lineup for a few games, which isn’t something a lot of left-backs can do.
Tavares certainly has the potential to become a top left full-back in the coming years. He’s fast, can dribble well and is also a decent crosser of the ball. The fact that he’s still only 22 means he’ll only get better in the coming years, and it would be silly of Arsenal to give up on him this early.
A loan move seems the best option for Tavares this summer, but Arsenal will only allow that once they’ve brought in a replacement.
