A rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target is now close to joining Atletico Madrid this summer transfer window.

Tottenham have made a really bright start to the window, making four additions so far with their focus very much on recruiting young talent.

Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Yang Min-hyuk have all joined Ange Postecoglou’s squad and are being tipped for bright futures.

Spurs aren’t only looking at youngsters as they look to add a Premier League captain to their squad, though, they could miss out on his signature to Atleti.

Conor Gallagher close to joining Atletico Madrid

Tottenham have been heavily linked to Chelsea skipper Conor Gallagher this summer, though, they have now fallen behind Atletico Madrid in the race to land his signature,

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea and Atletico are in direct talks about Gallagher, with a £33m deal being discussed.

Romano added that the deal is close to being finalised, so unless Spurs launch a late bid, they’ll have to move on to other targets.

Tottenham should focus on Jacob Ramsey

Jacob Ramsey is a player thought to be of serious interest to Tottenham this summer.

The Aston Villa midfielder has been discussed as part of a swap deal with Giovani Lo Celso potentially reuniting with Unai Emery.

Ramsey, 22, has a higher ceiling than Gallagher and would add far more value to Tottenham’s midfield offensively.

Though, they’ll still need to invest in a more defensive-minded midfielder and consider Crystal Palace’s Cheick Doucoure.

A telling few weeks lie ahead of Tottenham, who will be desperate to return to the Champions League this season.

In other news, Tottenham told they can open talks to ‘strong’ defender if £16.8m bid is submitted.
