'Negotiations are ongoing': Fabrizio Romano has just given an update on 'huge talent' Arsenal want
Fabrizio Romano has just taken to Twitter to provide an update on the future of Matheus Cunha, amid reports of interest from Wolves and Arsenal.
The Atletico Madrid star has emerged as a target for a number of Premier League clubs. Of those interested clubs, Wolves are thought to be most advanced when it comes to making a move happen. However, reports this morning from The Athletic have also put Arsenal in the frame to land Cunha.
Cunha, who has been branded a ‘huge talent’ by Julian Nagelsmann, was wanted by Liverpool in the summer as well.
And taking to Twitter just now, respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has explained the latest on Cunha, revealing that there is still no deal fully in place for him to join Wolves.
Naturally, this could open the door for Arsenal to make their move, if The Athletic’s report of interest in him is correct.
Cunha has done well for Atletico but is apparently open to moving in January. He is thought to be keen on exploring a move to England, with Aston Villa another club believed to have taken an interest in him.
TBR’s View: Arsenal can strike while Wolves hesitate
With the January window now just weeks away, things are definitely heating up and it seems clubs are being faced with making big decisions early on.
For Cunha, he seems to have a few offers on the table. That is good news for him, but bad news for a club like Wolves who were hoping to beat the pack to his signing.
Arsenal are an interesting option for Cunha. He would go in knowing he’d be a stop gap for Gabriel Jesus. However, it’s also a chance for him to join a top club and in all likelihood, play Champions League football.
