Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta faced the media today and the Spaniard was quizzed about his side’s interest in big players amid links to Dusan Vlahovic.

The Serbian is wanted by almost every club at the moment but it looks like Arsenal are the side who are most serious about him. Rumours about a move have been gaining pace over the last few days, and a deal really could happen.

However, the one concern that every Arsenal fan has is if Vlahovic or other big players want to join the Gunners. Arteta was quizzed about that today and the Arsenal boss refused to name any names, but he rubbished the rumours claiming that big players don’t want to come to Arsenal.

The Gunners boss revealed that every transfer target he talks to wants to come to the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta: Every transfer target wants to come to Arsenal

The Arsenal boss said in his press conference, which was streamed on Arsenal’s official website: “Historically, this club has always been targeting the best players in the world and they were always interested to come here.

“I can say that situation hasn’t changed.

“Every time I’ve spoken to any player, they were so willing to come. I haven’t faced any other situation. That’s one of our biggest powers That’s a big advantage for us.”

Even without Champions League football, Arsenal have been able to do fairly well in transfer windows.

Nicolas Pepe was the best player in France before he joined the Gunners while Thomas Partey was key in Spain for Atleti as well. Martin Odegaard agreed to join an Arsenal side who weren’t even in Europe, which shows that the pulling power is still there.

However, whether the same applies to the best players in the world is another story.

Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland probably don’t want to join the Gunners, but if Arteta can convince players below that bracket – the likes of Vlahovic and Bruno Guimaraes – Arsenal fans will be delighted.
